Green Garden DIY

This Memorial Day weekend we were busy bees working on a garden! Kyle's family decided that we should have a family garden at our house. I was thrilled because we had wanted a garden for awhile, but knew it was a really big job. We rented a rototiller and got to work. Here is what our garden looks like:

We had one little problem. Our hose is at the front of the house and won't reach all the way back to the garden. I had wanted a rain barrel because I loved the idea. So, when we were at our local True Value getting items for the garden, I picked up a small trashcan for only $15. Then, we put the trashcan under our gutter downspout. Lastly, we took some garden shears and cut out a small part of the lid to fit around the downspout. That way, we can put the lid on and keep gross stuff out of the water.

Here is what the hole looks like:

Now, we just fill up the watering can (that we got for cheap at ikea) to water the garden. It rained last night and it is already filled up! Yay for green and FREE water!

We recently got all of our wedding photos back so I am eager to finally hate some wedding DIYs that I have been promising for so long!

Something old, something blueish

As I recover from our wedding and try to give my all in my new medical internship, I thought I would try to blog. I wanted to share a couple of pieces from our booth!

The first piece is our something old. Our friend Allie's parents owned it and we were happy to obtain it. It is such a beautiful piece! Here it is:

I love the wood work and details! Here is our blueish dresser:

When we bought it, we loved the handles! Then we spruced it up with some paint. Here is what our booth looks like right now:

And lastly, I wanted to share our wedding photographer, Gail Werner's sneak peek of our wedding!
Photo courtesy of Gail Werner Photography. I am so excited to see all of our pictures from Gail! She has been my boss for years and I was over the moon to have her photograph my wedding (not to mention she is SO talented at EVERYTHING she does)!!
